TOPIK 51 and 52: how to fill the blanks for full points

Questions 51 and 52 (쓰기 51·52번) each give a short text with two blanks, ㉠ and ㉡. Each question is worth 10 points. You write one sentence per blank, and the sentence has to fit both the meaning and the style of the text around it.

Question 51: practical texts

Q51 is a notice, email, invitation or message. It usually uses polite -ㅂ니다 / -아요 style, so your answer should match it.

Question 52: explanatory paragraphs

Q52 is a short paragraph in -다 style. The blanks often sit after a linking word that tells you the logic.

Linking word before the blankWhat the blank needs
그러나 / 하지만the opposite of the previous sentence
따라서 / 그러므로a conclusion that follows from it
예를 들어a concrete example
왜냐하면a reason ending in ~기 때문이다

Partial credit

Each blank is scored separately, so a grammatically correct sentence with the right idea still earns points even if it is not the model answer. Never leave a blank empty.
